Wenger orders changes

ARSENE WENGER is sick of his wasteful Arsenal stars — and is ready to wield the axe for tomorrow’s Champions League clash with Porto.
The Gunners boss was fuming after a famous 2-1 victory for hard-working Hull knocked his team off the top of the table.

Wenger was once so angry after his Monaco side had been beaten at Cannes that he stopped the team bus to throw up at the side of the road.

He admitted after Saturday’s setback: “There were enough ingredients to make me physically sick.

“What we delivered was not good enough and we all know that. There will certainly be changes for Tuesday.

“When you have an opportunity to go top of the Premier League, the very least expected is that you have the correct level of intensity in your concentration right from the start.

“I would say the electric level in our head was not high enough.

“What was most disappointing is that we struggled to score in the first half, finally went 1-0 up, yet still lost the game.

“That is where we were guilty. We worked so hard to get ahead and then we let it go again.”

Wenger was particularly upset with his team’s defending against a Hull team who played with two up front all game and chased down everything.

Arsenal took the lead in the 50th minute when Paul McShane turned Theo Walcott’s cross into his own goal under pressure from Cesc Fabregas.

But Hull levelled in the 62nd minute with a magnificent 25-yarder from Geovanni and were ahead four minutes later when Daniel Cousin outjumped William Gallas to head in Andy Dawson’s corner.

Wenger added: “We gave them too much room on the first goal and we didn’t clear the ball for the second.
